August 27, 2006I first enjoyed walking on

Ste-Catherine Street

. Now that I find myself on it pretty much every day, I get to realize how dirty and perverted it is around there. At first I only had a general idea, but now that it’s been a week I’m here, the bad, dirty stuff I don’t want to see seems to be everywhere. So I started applying this little phrase my sister and I used when driving by signs we didn’t want to see. We’d say “Straight Ahead!” Meaning, “Stare in front of you, do not turn your head to the left or to the right”. So I basically walk and look in front of me. The thing is that this doesn’t always work because it’s very easy to see things I don’t want to see, right there in front of me too, like certain people. It is obvious how this city needs Jesus. I’ve been to

Peoples
Church this weekend and it’s encouraging to see in their bulletin that they’re doing some street outreach once a week or something like that.
Conclusion: Little villages are good places to raise your kids and live peacefully, believe me.
